Missed periods/pelvic pain?

Missed periods/pelvic pain?
I have been taking generic Yasmin for over 3 years and discontinued it in June of 09. I never got my period until my gyno prescribed Provera for 5 days back in October. When i did finally get my period it was VERY light contrary to the expected. My gyno told me to start taking birth control after that, but i was hoping that my periods will come back naturally however they have not. Prior to my birth control use my periods were always exceptionally regular ever since i was a teenager. Im 24 years old, my thyroid tests and everything else came back fine. Im 130 lbs 5'7 and in good health, eat a balanced diet and work out regularly. It frustrates me like no other when my doc says that whats going on with me is normal, because it is not normal for ME. I didnt resume taking my birth control because i feel that this is what had caused my problems to begin with. Is there any other way of getting my period back without birth control?? My second problem may not be related to this, however i figured that it my be worth mentioning. 2 days ago i developed cramps (similar to period cramps), however of course my period never came. Instead i developed this lower pelvic pain/pressure sensation (right above my pelvic bone and a bit lower then my hip bones). Its in the middle for the most part, but ocassionally radiates to my right ovary. It feel's like pressure throughout tha day (especially when i first sit down) and completely unbearable during deep penetration during sex. It also hurts when i press on it. I dont have any other symptoms such as discharge, irritation, itch or smell. I made an appointment with my gyno, but they cant see me until next week. Can it be something related to my missed periods or is it something that requires immediate medical attention? Thank you so much in advance for all your help.
answer:
YES- it's all related.

Google polycystic ovary syndrome.

you don't have to have all the symptoms to have it (i'm thin)

i have pain during sex too and feel the pill has completely messed up my body.

p.s. the comment above me is b.s.
