Is there a way to cure tight foreskin without surgery?
I have a tight foreskin, however I can pull it back all the way no problem when it's flaccid. When I become erect however it becomes painful to pull it all the way back, which worries me. Is there a way to cure this with some sort of exercise without considering a circumcision? I am 17 years old. I can pull the foreskin all the way back when it's erect but it is painful.
answer:
OK, the situation is that you have a tight foreskin. You will find on this forum, a variety of answers, some helpful, some mendacious and some facetious. Certain things nevertheless apply:
1} You don't strictly *have* to retract your foreskin. In fact there must be hundreds of millions of men in the world who are in such a situation but either do not *know* of any need to pull their foreskin back (because of the profound ignorance of sexual matters which exists and which you can even see amongst some posters here who would appear to have "access" to information) or realise their situation but do not feel any need to alter it as they have continued to have perfectly satisfactory sexual experiences, father children in the normal way, and have no problems with their foreskin.
2} On the other hand, it probably *is* a good idea to have it able to retract "normally" - that is, easily when you have an erection as well as when you do not. This can be achieved *progressively* over a period of a few weeks by persistent stretching "exercises" which have not been entirely properly described to you here. The proper routine for stretching is somewhat more detailed, but perfectly effective. Simply pulling your foreskin back is neither the most comfortable, the easiest or the most effective method. There is however, a really good discussion board (the source below) dedicated to this exact question, giving answers in *detail* (albeit I am a major contributor).
3} There is actually no reason at all to see a doctor, as most are really ignorant about the condition (and tend to suggest surgery, which leaves you in a worse situation than when you started). While your situation is not quite "normal", it is quite functional for masturbation (as I am sure you already realise) or sexual intercourse, and therefore not something to get into a panic about.
4} You may note people here advising circumcision on the premise that they had this performed for "medical" reasons. Since there actually *are* no compelling medical reasons, you have to muse for yourself on their real motivations for this. One person in particular, claims to have been circumcised *twice* for these "medical" reasons - I think that is particularly revealing.

Please note however that the discussion board I specify is not strictly in the "Q & A" format like this site. The thing to do to make proper use of it is to *read* through the discussion, each thread from at least half a dozen of the "index" pages (ten threads each), so you get a good idea of the explanations given. If *after* doing that, you still have a question about your particular situation, by all means post it, but please do the reading - and have a good think about it - first.
One other thing though - do be careful where you surf - in regard to phimosis and some related subjects Wikipedia, while offering a plausible discussion of various aspects, is *very* dangerous due to certain trolls who wield influence.
