Toothbrush dilemma. Any help would be appreciated!!!?
My sister accidently bought me a "Medium" toothbrush instead of a "soft" one. I didn't even look at the package before opening it and using it. After using it, I noticed it was a little rough so I looked at the package and saw it was a "medium" one. I know I can easily go out and just buy a soft one, but I'd rather make use of this one right now. What can I do to maybe soften the bristles somehow and will using a medium toothbrush harm my teeth? Should I just buy a whole new toothbrush? I brush VERY carefully and I don't brush roughly. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
answer:
The medium bristles shouldn't harm your teeth, but over time - they may make gingival (gum) recession more likely. Since you are such a careful brusher, I doubt that will happen. You could try soaking the bristles in warm tap water for a minute or so before using - that should temporarily soften them.
its okay, unless you have extremely sensitive teeth ( root canal-ed) or sensitive gums( bleed on applying pressure while brushing), soft brushes are not required. the soft ones are basically made for the people suffering from the above mentioned problems or babies/children. even if you aren't one, you could still use the soft brush if you have been using it and its helping!
if the medium toothbrush harmed you teeth

do you think we would make one?
