Altered jawbone structure after wisdom teeth removal?
I didn't notice it before, but my left side of my mouth seems to have a bone sticking out towards my last molar. While the other side is normal, I also tend to accidentally bite the skin of it so I get a bump there. Is it normal for my jawbone to have been altered after the surgery? It's been around a year since I went to surgery.
answer:
The bone which you are talking about would probably be the bone which was around the wisdom tooth before its removal. There must be a spicule of bone which is sometimes left or is formed after the bone around the extraction site starts healing.
Don't worry and visit your dentist to get it removed if its a constant irritation.
