You want a BPA free water bottle no matter what. It is also a good idea to get one that is Phthalate-free, which are esters of phthalic acid. There's a metal water bottle on the market, called the Kleen Kanteen. It doesn't have any of the chemicals of plastic, and it will keep cold water cold for quite sometime. I have one.
