best answer:
depends on your doctor, I have friends that have gotten cards for completely irrelevant issues. The most common is as a pain killer, but I have heard anything form shaky hands to allergies work. Just ask your doctor about medical marijuana, and see how your doctor feels about it. If your Dr. is against it, you shouldn't waste your time. You can always find another Dr. to give you a card.
This may come as shock to you,. but doctors are actually pretty bright people who hear grandiose, entertaining stories from people all the time who are trying to obtain illicit prescriptions for narcotics, valium like drugs, and more recently, marijuana. We refer to these people as exhibiting "drug seeking behaviour" and flag their charts as "drug seekers". Do you want that sort of designation following you around the rest of your life?

Marijuana does have some legitimate uses for medical problems. Not as many as some of the advocates claim, but there are some genuine uses. The list is a fairly short one, and because MJ is still technically an illegal narcotic according the justice system, doctors are very careful to prescribe it only to those who have legitimate medical needs (eg. HIV/AIDS wasting syndrome, chemotherapy related nausea, multiple sclerosis) Also, you would have had to try and fail on more conventional treatments before MJ would even be considered. You will not be going to a walk in clinic and coming out with a marijuana license.

Also, don't take this as coming from an "anti drug" point of view. I am actually a supporter of the legalization/decriminalization of marijuana, but I keep the two issues very separate.

So, quit trying to come up with a story to scam a doctor so you can get weed for your recreational use, it isn't going to happen. We've heard all the stories before, and you you will be listened to politely, and then asked to leave.
You have to have a real problem. If you want to get stoned go buy some.Don't make you self look like a a$$ Medical marijuana is some thing we have been trying to going and hopeful soon make it ok for everyone to use. Don't put us back because you just want to get high
Do you really think a doctor would risk their career by losing their medical license in order to give a prescription to a person for medical marijuana without being able to backup their medical reasoning?
It's not that easy to get. You need medical records to back up your need for medical marijuana.
Tell him you are a junkie.
Dude just find a dealer.
