Prunes are not very high in fiber so why do they make your bowels move so easily?
i've been experimenting with many diets lately, and high fiber foods seem very beneficial but i'm wondering what the deal with prunes is

calorie limitation seems good too, but it's much more difficult
best answer:
Prunes are actually high in fiber, but it's the Sorbitol (sugar) that helps loosens the bowels.
Sorbitol is correct - it draws water into the bowels, making it easier to pass.
Because it does :)
